- B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical Engineering (ME) -

Objective:

The B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical Engineering program at AUB aims to equip graduates with the essential knowledge and skills to become leaders in the field of mechanical engineering. Our program is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of core mechanical engineering principles while also emphasizing creative problem-solving and innovation. Students will learn to analyze and design mechanical systems, apply scientific principles, and contribute to the development of new technologies. Mechanical engineering is a dynamic and evolving discipline, and the program is designed to prepare students for a wide range of industries including manufacturing, energy, robotics, and aerospace. By offering both theoretical and hands-on learning experiences, AUB ensures that students are fully prepared to meet the challenges of the modern engineering world.

Entry Requirements

  • For Regular Students: Students must have completed S.S.C. and H.S.C. with a science background under the CGPA system with at least a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in both exams separately.
  • For Diploma Holders: Students must have a CGPA of at least 2.5 in their Diploma Engineering program.
  • For O-Level and A-Level Students: Students must have an average grade of B.
  • Additional Requirements: Applicants must meet any other specific requirements set by the university.

Applicants should also fulfill any other conditions specified by the authorities.

Admission

Admission into the B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical Engineering program is based on a competitive selection process. Candidates are selected based on their academic records, a written test, and a viva examination.

English Language Requirement

Proficiency in English is essential for pursuing the Mechanical Engineering program. Applicants must demonstrate their proficiency in English by submitting a TOEFL score of at least 550 or an equivalent score from exams such as IELTS. Students who do not meet this requirement will have to complete four intensive English language courses during their first semester. A passing grade of `C` is required for progression into the main program.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate with a B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical Engineering, students must complete a four-year integrated program with at least 144.5 credit hours, which includes core courses, elective courses, and a final project or thesis.

Workload

Students in the Mechanical Engineering program will typically take between 10.5 to 15.75 credit hours per semester. The number of credit hours may vary depending on the semester's course offerings and the student's academic progress.
