Department of Mechanical Engineering at a Glance
The Mechanical Engineering (ME) department is equipped with a highly qualified faculty, including Ph.D. and Master's Degree holders from renowned universities both in Bangladesh and abroad. Currently, the department boasts 10 full-time faculty members, with qualifications from institutions such as BUET, DUET, DU, JU, EWU, and foreign universities in the USA, UK, Australia, and Malaysia.
The main objectives of the ME Department are:
- To produce skilled engineers who are proficient in fundamental mechanical engineering principles and capable of designing, analyzing, and solving real-world engineering problems.
- To create innovative engineers with strong problem-solving skills who can contribute effectively to the global engineering landscape.
- To produce engineers who are capable of applying mechanical engineering concepts to improve industrial processes, designs, and systems for greater efficiency and sustainability.
- To foster engineers who possess strong ethics, integrity, and professionalism, ensuring that they are prepared to face the challenges of the modern world.
- To produce graduates who are academically competent and able to conduct research and contribute to the field of mechanical engineering.
GRADUATE ATTRIBUTES:
- Ability to apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science to solve complex engineering problems.
- Competence in the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems and components.
- Skills to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicate technical information.
- Capability to apply modern engineering tools, including computer-aided design (CAD) software, simulation tools, and manufacturing technologies.
- A strong foundation in sustainable engineering practices, with an understanding of environmental and societal impacts of mechanical engineering solutions.
